EDITORIAL

Thank Yous and Welcomes: SCAN turns Two

Matthew Lieberman

Editor-in-Chief

Social Cognitive and Affective Neuroscience has now published two full years of journal issues. The development of this journal has gone relatively smoothly, with a few inevitable bumps in the road. We have been getting a large enough number of submissions that we have expanded from 8 empirical articles per issue to 10 empirical articles per issue. We are also now being indexed by PubMed, PsycInfo and Web of Science. While the indexing at PubMed has begun, for a variety of reasons, articles have been slow to appear. However, this issue appears to be behind us with new articles to begin appearing at PubMed very soon. Also, indexing will be covering all previously published articles at SCAN going back to the first issue of the journal.

SCAN is undergoing some changing of the guard and I wanted to take the opportunity to thank the old guard and welcome the new guard. The original Associate Editors, Ralph Adolphs, Ernst Fehr, Chris Frith, Kevin Ochsner and Tania Singer, have done a marvelous job in helping SCAN get off the ground. I am extremely grateful to all of them and we should all be thankful of their service to the social and affective neuroscience communities. Ernst Fehr, Chris Frith and Tania Singer have finished their terms as Associate Editor, but will all be staying on board as Consulting Editors. Ralph Adolphs and Kevin Ochsner will be remaining as Associate Editors and are joined currently by three new Associate Editors.

Sarah-Jayne Blakemore, Tiffany Ito and Christian Keysers have all begun their terms as new Associate Editors. I am thrilled to have them join SCAN and I look forward to working with them to continue in making SCAN the best journal it can be.
